The Inglewood Photography
Festival is excited to announce a landmark event in support of emerging
photographers: a charity auction featuring works from some of the most
celebrated names in contemporary photography. The auction, hosted on Artsy from
September 4th through the 18th, will raise funds for the festival’s inaugural
book award, which will provide an emerging artist with the opportunity to
publish their first book and receive mentorship as they embark on their fine
art photography career.
The charity auction includes contributions from an
impressive lineup of renowned photographers, including Miles Aldridge, Janette
Beckman, Julie Blackmon, Sylvie Blum, Paul Jasmin, Geof Kern, Douglas Kirkland,
Frank Ockenfels III, Herb Ritts, Randee St. Nicholas, Dan Winters, Magdalena
Wosinska, and Steve Schapiro. These artists have generously donated works that
capture the breadth and depth of contemporary photography, from iconic
portraits to evocative narrative scenes.
To kick off this significant event, a preview of the auction
will be held on September 7th at NeueHouse’s historic Bradbury location. This
exclusive preview will offer collectors, art enthusiasts, and supporters of the
festival an opportunity to view the works in person and engage with the rich
stories behind each piece. The auction preview promises to be a highlight of
the art calendar, with many of the artists expected to be in attendance.
